STRI Internship Program
The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) Internship Program provides undergraduate students, recent graduates, and beginning graduate students with hands-on research experience alongside STRI scientists in tropical science. Interns participate in mentored research projects covering areas such as biodiversity, ecology, conservation, and environmental sciences. The programme is open to applicants of all nationalities, with opportunities depending on available research projects and mentors. Selected interns receive financial support, including a stipend and additional support depending on the internship category and duration. Some projects focus on marine and coastal ecosystems, including coral reefs and marine biodiversity.
