Pure Ocean — Call for Projects 2027

Pure Ocean, an endowment fund based in Marseille, France, is accepting proposals under its 2027 Call for Projects, funding research and field projects addressing four priority challenges aligned with the UN Ocean Decade: combating marine pollution, protecting biodiversity and restoring ecosystems, building climate resilience and adaptation, and enhancing ocean system knowledge. Eligible applicants are universities, research institutes, and non-profit organizations (private-sector collaboration is permitted, but the lead applicant must be non-profit); awareness campaigns, cleanups, and pure advocacy projects are not eligible. Grants of up to €40,000 per year are available for one- to two-year projects, with a maximum of €80,000 for two-year initiatives. Note: eligibility is restricted to projects based in mainland France or its overseas territories (Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, and French Indian and Pacific Ocean territories).
