The Kanan Kay Alliance is a leading cross-sector initiative that promotes healthy small-scale fisheries, fosters food security, and benefits the coastal communities of the Yucatan Peninsula. Its goal is to contribute to the consolidation of responsible fishery management to recover the biodiversity and productivity of the artisanal fisheries of the Yucatan Peninsula by facilitating collaborative processes and shared actions throughout fish replenishment zones, and to increase the biomass of species of commercial interest by at least 30% within fish replenishment zones.
